New Prompt

Everyone seems like they had fun with the shark story, so let's take that another step.  Write another story about a shark, but write it in first person ( I ).  Your shark can like meat this time.

New Challenge

For those of you who want to get moving on the next prompt, here it is.  You can still post things from old prompts.

We're going to move back to fiction writing for a while now.

Write a short story about a shark who doesn't like the taste of meat.

New Challenge

Okay, here's a fun one.  Should make for some ... interesting poetry.

Make a poem beginning each word with the letters of the alphabet (in order).  You use a letter at the beginning only once and you may not skip any.  No extra words either.  Like this:

Amy began
catching dinner
early for grand
harmony

Try to make some sort of (wierd) sense and try to go all the way through the alphabet.  As you see, it doesn't have to rhyme.

New Challenge

You've all done so well on your poems!!!  Great stuff!  Do you see how different placement makes for a different meaning within the poem?

Here's a new challenge for you to try.  Use the two words that rhyme and two more that are near rhymes with the first two.  Make a poem that is 6 - 10 lines long.  Remember, the rhymes don't have to be on the end of a line.  They can (and one or two should) be in the middle of a line to strengthen that part of the poem.

You have until next Monday for this.

Poetry Prompt

Hello!

I just wanted to recap what the poetry prompt was for today:  Rewrite the following poem emphasizing what YOU feel is important.  Remember, the strongest power place is at the end of a line.  The second strongest is at the beginning.  Some words need to stand alone for maximum power, and some need to be broken between two lines.  Also, use rhyme and near rhyme to strengthen the middle of long lines.

Here's the original words without any line breaks:
Frost shadows perfect circles crystalline Mercedes Benz road fragmented moonlight and asphalt jockeys drive

You can change tenses and add minor words (to, the, and, so, a), but you can't change or add any other words.

You have until next Thursday to do this.  Post your poems here.

To add info to your bio, go to New Post, then Edit Pages. Pick your page and make any additions or changes you want.

Does anyone have a really great picture of a squirrel for our header?
