Assignment (The Boisterous Cat Named Sally)

The Boisterous Cat Named Sally

A boisterous cat
Daringly enters
Ferocious gorillas' habitat.
Inching jaguarishly,
Little mouser nervously occupies
Paradise.
Quailing rivetingly,
Sally, terrified,
Understands velocity.
Wailing xenofeline
Yonder zips.

That was a very difficult assignment! It was fun to write though. It's about a cat named Sally that sneaks into a gorilla habitat at the zoo (I don't know how she ended up at a zoo in the first place) and the gorillas scare her and she runs away. For x, I looked through the dictionary for words that start with x and found out that the prefix xeno was Greek for foreign, so I made up the word xenofeline, meaning a cat that does not belong in her surroundings.

  1. Bravo! A perfectly acceptable use of xeno-. Fun poem, too!
