Assignment (The Shark that Didn't Like the Taste of Meat)

The Shark that Didn't Like the Taste of Meat

Deep underneath the crashing waves of the Pacific Ocean, down, down, down through the dark waters teeming with life is a shark. This shark does not like the taste of meat. This is very sad.
The problem is, sharks are carnivorous, so meat is pretty much all they eat. Without it, they do not get proper nutrition, so it is essential that they eat meat.
This poses quite the dilemma for our poor shark.
One sunny day, our little shark (he does not have a name as sharks do not usually name their children) was eating a fish, disgusted by it's slimy texture and ghastly flavor. This was how all his meals were/ In fact, he had not had a single meal in his life that hadn't utterly repulsed him.
He was eating and moping simultaneously when an idea struck him a lighting bolt of inspiration!
He would look for an alternative food that gave sharks the same nutritional benefits as meat but had a taste that was at least bearable if not absolutely fantastic!
Full of purpose and fish, the shark sped through the water, determined never to eat meat again!
After quite a while, the shark slowed down, deciding it was best not to waste his energy too quickly.
After hours of futile searching, the shark's excitement was waning. He couldn't believe he hadn't found anything yet, and he was beginning to feel a bit hungry.
But then something caught his eye.
It was green and several times his height. It looked similar to seaweed, but it was bigger and paler and it waved slowly and gracefully in some strange, eerie cha cha of enticement.
The shark eagerly swam forward and took a bite.
It tasted awful! Worse even than meat!
He spat it out, shaking his head at the sickening aroma of this strange sea plant. Nothing that revolting could possibly be healthy, he decided.
Night came and went and the shark had tried several meat substitutes, including the unwise choice of a sea urchin, and he hadn't found anything that even came close to resembling what he was looking for. He was starting to wonder if his mother had been right when she had told him he was a picky eater.
The shark's stomach began to rumble. He hadn't eaten anything since the fish he hadn't detested so much the day before. He saw several sea creatures swimming away from him, all of htem suitable for consuption. Some were particularly slow, and would take very little energy to catch.
But the shark clenched his jaw, vowing to never eat any meat EVER AGAIN!
The sun fell and rose again and the shark was ravaged by excruciating hunger. He had to eat!
Out of the corner of his eye, he saw an unusually large fish swimming peacefully. It didn't appear to have noticed him. He eyed it, for once wanting nothing more than a fish in his belly.
He shot through the water and killed it swiftly.
The shark chewed the fish greedily, savoring the taste.
For the first time in his life, he enjoyed the taste of meat.
